Description
The 1/2" flanged locknut is part of the piping as well as the water supply and heating system.
This fixing element is required for additional fixation of the connections in the pipe system.
In other words, a locknut is an additional nut which is screwed on top of the main nut in order to increase the connection reliability, protect against self-loosening due to external influences (jolts, vibrations etc.) and avoid leaks and leakage.
The flange that protrudes beyond the hexagonal part of the nut creates an additional barrier to displacement and extrusion of sealing materials when tightening the threads, which leads to a more reliable and durable sealing, as well as improves the appearance of the connection (hiding the gasket fibers).
The locknut is manufactured by the hot forging method. The fitting is made from high quality brass CW617N and has a nickel coating of at least 7µm, making it suitable for use in drinking water systems due to the reduced lead content in the alloy.
The manufacturer of this lock nut is MasterProf Company
