Description
Nipple (barrel), refers to threaded connections. The nipple has two 1/2" male threads and is used to connect piping elements that have female threads, as well as combined elements of polypropylene, metal polymer, HDPE, etc.
The nipple is a tube with male threads for connecting pipe parts of the same diameter. The nipple is knurled on the threaded part of the fitting to retain seals during installation. A feature of this nipple is a flat on one end of the fitting that protects the gasket from being cut when tightening the threads. This feature makes it possible to connect other elements of the pipeline using a gasket in the form of a seal without using traditional thread seals (tape, PTFE sealing material tape, etc.) on one side of the fitting. It is possible to connect flexible inlet, fittings and water shut-off valves with coupling nut.
It is used in cold and hot water, heating and gas supply systems, for both domestic and industrial purposes, creating detachable connections.
In order to obtain a tight connection, it is necessary to use sealing materials such as sanitary tape and paste and/or Teflon tape (PTFE sealing material tape) and/or aerobic sealant or sanitary floss on one side of the nipple, on the other side of the nipple the use of a sanitary gasket is sufficient. Each product is provided with a hexagonal shaped section for spanner and/or adjustable wrench to facilitate the installation process.
The nipple is manufactured by the hot forging method. The fitting is made of high quality brass CW617N and has a nickel coating of at least 12 microns, making it suitable for use in drinking water systems due to the reduced lead content in the alloy.
